Stoneflower II

In early 2011, I was looking at this painting, and thinking about the watery areas in the painting, how it was rather well-done -- if I do say so myself! And then, I had the sudden experience of seeing this painting as a very cartoonish rendition of a face: the two flowers are eyes, and the stones are the nose and mouth in a kind of wry expression. Since I had been aiming in the painting for something somewhat more elevated in expression -- listening to Prokofiev while painting it ! -- I have decided the canvas deserves to be re-used. A new image will be uploaded when that painting is finished! It will be interesting to see what (if any!) aspects/portions of this painting remain.
